The hike to Glymur is moderately challenging. It takes about 3 hours in total. Half of it will be uphill, and the second half (way back), downhill.
We will have to walk on uneven ground, and we will cross two rivers. For the first one, there is a log across the path to help crossing it. Depending on the water levels, one may or may not need wading shoes.
The second river, at the top of the waterfall, is quite different. For this one, there are no other choices but to walk in the water!
This hike might be the most beautiful hike to do as a day trip from Reykjavík.
