Your itinerary
1. Nauthúsagíl
Our first stop will be the canyon and the waterfall in Nauhúsagíl. Inside of a gorge covered with moss and short vegetation, we will make our way along a river.
After a short walk, it will be time to ... Remove our shoes! Wade in the water, grab on some chains attached to the natural walls, and finally reach the waterfall!
If you were looking for an adventure, this stop will have you dive right into it!
2. Valahnúkur
Kirkjufell is simply the most photographed mountain in Iceland. It has always been a famous landmark on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, and a very appreciated stop by tourists from all over the world, and Icelanders as well. But its fame only grew even bigger after being featured in Game of Thrones.
As you walk towards the most stunning viewpoint to observe the mountain, you will notice two waterfalls. This sight is just magic and mesmerizing.
3. Stakkholtsgjá
Another canyon, but a totally different experience. Stakkholtsgjá is a very wide canyon. At its bottom, the riverbed takes countless turns and swirls.
Similar to Nauthúsagíl, a waterfall awaits the visitor at the end of the canyon. But, unlike with Nauthúsaægil, it is not alway necessary to wade in a river to get to the waterfall.
