Amazing West

Discover the peninsula of Snæfellsnes, often nicknamed Iceland in miniature. All the different types of landscapes that you can find in Icelandic nature is condensed on this small bit of land.

We will visit Kirkjufell mountain, most photographed mountain in Iceland, and a filming location of Game of Thrones. We will then head to the black sand beach of Djúpalónssandur, where rusty remains of shipwreck can be seen scattered around the beach. Finally, we will discover the spectacular shoreline of Arnarstapi. Your guide will also hand-pick two additional visits.

You will be cruising in the Snæfellsjökull National Park, which bears the name of the glacier on top of the central volcano located at the tip of the peninsula. This beautiful mountain culminates way above all others. This volcano is the one where takes place the original story (written by Jules Verne) of "Journey to the center of the earth".

We will spend the night in a hotel on the peninsula.

A day combining sightseeing with activities. We will begin our day by visiting a 6 000 years old lava tunnel thanks to a guided tour.

Following this, we will stop by the site of Barnafoss and Hraunfossar. Some would argue that Hraunfossar (The lava-feild waterfalls) are the most beautiful waterfalls on the island. Next to them, is Barnafoss, a waterfall that looks more like a torrent and has a sad, yet interesting legend associated to it. Our next stop will be the hot springs of Deildartunguhver, the most powerful hot springs in Europe.

After having had lunch in the area, we will drive towards Hvammsvík hot springs. There you will get to soak in naturally hot sea water. The facilities include several baths of different temperatures, one of them with direct access to the bar! If you are feeling brave, you can take a dip in the open sea! This moment of peace and relaxation is the perfect way to end an already beautiful day.
